Two new best friends.

We got .7 of an inch of rain last night, so it's coming in hot and heavy in the basement, again. Yesterday we pumped out 48 gallons, so we were relaxing. Today it's a little after 4 and we've pumped over 240 already. We're going to take off and play some cards tonight and act like we don't have water in the basement. Ha! We'll come back and pump some more before we go to bed.

Pictured are our two new best friends, the shop vac and the sump pump. We thank God for them, as well as the friends from whom we bought them! Have a great weekend and count the blessings!

  1. Bless your hearts. We were wondering if the rains were effecting you. So sorry we are not close enough to help you with the basement. Congrats on the news of the new grandbaby! We thought Brandon & Angela were moving to Colorado, but the owner of Big O gave him the manager position and a big raise plus a company truck so they're staying here - we are so glad. It was killing us to think that they and Chloe were moving away. Come see us when you can. We love you both.

  2. Wow! Great news for Brandon and Angela and YOU! Congratulations to Brandon. We're managing with the basement; it could be so much worse. This takes our time, but we're glad to be able to do it. We keep being glad it's not a tornado every day! Thanks for your love and thoughts. Hug Chloe for us! Love you all, Don and Jo

  3. Hello, No need to say we are sorry you keep getting all that water in your basement but so Thankful you take it in stride and think how much worse it could be. You both are so Thankful and that is why you can do what you do. I wanted to tell you since you sent the pictures of the frogs that my Sister Frances has had a frog in her basement for years. No one knows how long. She has a pan of water and it stays in there a lot. The last mention she said she hadn't seen it for a day or two and I can't think to ask her about it. We are getting rain too this week but not any too much but Thankful, Oh so Thankful for what we are getting. I wish you could see Phil and Ruthie's baby ducks. They are so cute. Take care and hang in there. This too will pass. God is so Good!!

  4. Hi, Dot. What wonderful news to me that Frances has a frog in her basement and has had him a long time. That tickles me. Ruthie wrote that frogs rank right up there with snakes for her, so I figured I must have a wrong chromosome or something. HA! I feel better to share my tolerance of frogs with a sweet lady like Frances. Ruthie tells me she is wonderful. Now we are 'frog sisters.' I'm really happy for him to be down there eating any other insects that might find there way there. Wait until you see today's post. I have ANOTHER frog (or toad, he might be?; his name is Jarvis. I have to enjoy this adventure; it's way more fun that dreading it. Thanks for your encouraging words, and, again, for sharing your sister with me. That's only fair since you're getting a big share of my sister, too. :) I love you!

  5. Hi, I recieved the Itazuke Alum association newsletter today and read it with excitement, I haven't heard from you in so long since the Disney reunion,I was shocked to hear of your breast ca diagnosis as I have been fighting the same diagnosis since last year.I have been getting treatment at MD Andersen in Orlando, I feel "safe" getting my ca treatment there and feel love when I walk into the door.I know alot of the staff as I worked at Orlando Regional Medical Center when I first started my nursing career in 1984. I have so much to tell you and offer prayers and support ( I went two months ago for my first Ultrasound, mammo, and Breast MRI and it was negative for cancer, but when they did the MRI they found I had four thyroid nodules and a enlarged thyroid, suspecting it was cancerous I was booked for surgery the next morning at MD Andersen, and spent two days in the Oncology unit recovering. Once again God is great no cancer of the thyroid. I go every three months for rechecks and exams and every 6 months for mammo and ultrasound. I take an oral chemo called arimidex and have gained 20 lbs since I started this medication.I read you are getting treatment in Mexico why Mexico? I am not working and have been unable to continue my nursing, I am on disability but I keep telling my self I will someday go back to work, I miss nursing Please e mail me as I recently had my computer repaired and have lost all my Itazuke e mail addresses. If you have the e mail addresses would you kindly forward them to me if possible. God bless write soon Dee Dyke Kottal Orlando Florida
