Bandage-changing day!

This is bandage-changing day. Doctor Don was up to the task, so we got pictures of that. Meanwhile Ruthie and Phil were working on a puzzle. Phil, not to be outdone, would get this puzzle done even if it means taking some scissors to a piece or two. (Remember that maneuver, Tom? Precious memories!)

We are having a fun time together. Today we went to lunch with Bob and Diana Clark; we should have been on the ball and taken pictures, but we forgot the camera. We had a fun time, anyway! I’m so glad Ruthie and Phil are here! We laugh and laugh and laughter is so good!

Tomorrow we’re going to OKC to make a quick visit with Trish and the kids. We’re all in need of grandkid fixes! I’ve still got enough hair that maybe they won’t be too shocked. I’m surprised every time I shampoo that there is enough left to even comb. The silver is falling out, now. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.

God is so good to us; we give thanks for so many blessings! It is so wonderful to have Ruthie and Phil here!!!

  1. mggWe are still with you as you and Don continue your journey with others as we are just beginning. Our grandson is extremely smart but I believe it is only now that he sees Jane’s condition and mine as serious. As we are his guardians, I pray each day that we are there until he graduates the twelfth grade and beyond.

Mary Jo you brighten my sprits each and every time I read your blog,

    Gene…

PS Jane started back to school yesterday and had her first of 35 Radiation treatments…

  2. Hello Dear Friends, Keep on having fun and laughing. Laughter is better than medicine. I know, I have tried it!! We both talk about all of you so much. I told Frazier about Ruthie having Blake's picture at church Sun. night and how precious it was and he sure would like to see him. He has always been a lover of babies and children and so do I. Just keep up the good work, Don, you are great! Now Phil, don't go cutting the pieces to make them fit your puzzle. It just won't work. Thanks for keeping in touch
    God is so GOOD!
With Love and Prayers, Lots of them!

  4. I guess because I'm your daughter and I haven't seen dad give you a kiss in AGES that picture REALLY caught me off guard! Glad you look so happy! I wish I could be there.....sorry to be so very far away! I'm hoping for October, but it will take a small miracle. I love you very much!

  5. Hi, Gene! Thanks for keeping up with us and for checking in from time to time. I'm keeping you all in my prayers, and pray that you can be here to see your grandson through school.

I'm so glad I can brighten your spirits; that makes my day! It feels good to be able to help anyone. It's a gift to me when you write because it keeps me up to date on how you are doing, but it also makes me feel loved.

Give my love to Jane and keep me posted as to how she does with her radiation; she is paving the road for me since I will be going down that road in a few months.

    God bless!

    Mary Jo

  6. Dot and Frazier, thanks so much for keeping up with us and for all your encouraging words.

We had a big dose of kids and laughter today, so we are all healed and ready for a good night's sleep. The kids were great today, as always. We laughed all day, going and coming. The guys are such a hoot!

You two take care and enjoy lots of laughs, too. I know you do!

    Love you,

    Jo

  7. Hi, Terri! Honeyman is the best and it's so fun to have a wonderful Doctor who I can kiss! Bless his heart. Changing the bandage is pretty hard because he's so afraid of hurting me. He did a great job and I kissed him to thank him for being so gentle and taking such good care of me. Notice I had him by the shirt and pulled him down to me (without a fight). :)

Stay in where it's cool, girl!

    Love you!

    Sissy

  8. Jilly, we sure miss you, too! We took all your pictures to Tricia's and shared with her, today. Everyone enjoyed seeing you and Elena and Garret in the pictures.

I sure hope you can make it in October. If not then, then later will do. We have to accept God's timing and maybe we will need you more later if October doesn't work. Whenever you make it, we'll have lots of hugs and kisses for you all!

    Love,

    Mom
