Up at dark.

Here I am sitting at the computer getting ready to write the blog. Click on the picture and you can inspect my hair and eyebrows! I do have eyelashes, too, but they’re so light you can’t see them. Maybe I’ll do some mascara again someday.

Today has been another kind of catch up day. Catching up with ME! We got up at dark to get to the hospital for my new radiation time of 7:30. At least it was daylight when we came out from the treatments! I really don’t like getting up and going somewhere at dark! I’ll get used to it, I hope. We shared a banana before we left and came home and had breakfast. Then I did my exercises and went back to bed. I’ve got to get into bed early tonight so I can be nicer in the morning.

After my nap we walked for 65 minutes! I’m so pleased with that, but whoever says walking energizes you is not walking in my shoes. It makes Me tired! Thank goodness Don goes with me and holds my hand so we hold each other up. The weather was beautiful for the walk, so I’m sure thanking God for that. Houston gets a lot of rain, but it’s sure nice and warm here most of the time. God is good to give me a warm place. He sure gave us a warm bed and shower, so I’d better quit griping about getting up at dark. We ASKED for the early morning time, after all. (We didn’t know they started THAT early!) I’m thanking God for the opportunity to be here for these treatments, too, so I need to get a grip and quit talking out of both sides of my mouth. I’m just being honest and admitting that dark is not my favorite time to go somewhere. God bless you for reading this!

  1. Oh no!!! You didn't know it is against the law to get up before daylight....for ANY reason???!! Hmm, I forget: that's just one of your sister "Ruthie's law". You mentioned going to bed early tonight so you'll do better tomorrow, and I'm sure that will work for you because you INTEND for it to! I'm counting blessings along with you that you have a great place to hang your hat and call home as you do the radiation thing. I'm so glad you are able to take those walks too....enjoy every minute of them! I love your hair....so fun to be able to share these moments with you! Keep on "keeping on", and while we are at it I guess we'll be thankful we have the privilege of getting up before daylight!

    Love you!

  3. I'm with Aunt Ruthie - getting up while it's still dark should be illegal! At least you have the opportunity to go back to bed. Going back to bed is always a good plan in my book. You think there is something genetic going on there? It is good that you have the opportunity to get things done early, go back to bed, then start the whole day over without that agenda! Glad you are able to walk more. I know that feels good. Your picture on the blog is great! Can't wait to get to see you in person!

    Love,
    Tricia

  4. Ruthie, it's sure one of my 'laws' too! I think I'm adapting, though; amazing thing!!!

The wonderful walks make me appreciate good shoes and the ability to put my poor toes into shoes with toes, too! I'm so grateful that the neuropathy is just about a thing of the past. Wow, it's great to be feeling good!

You're so right. Getting up before daylight is a privilege; getting up anytime is something for which I give thanks.

It's so wonderful to have a sister that understands my 'kinks' about getting up at dark, but I thank God for being able to get up and for my sister!

    Love you,

    Mary Jo

finn says :whats green and wobbley?
answer : A frog in jelly!!

    hahaha :)

  8. Amanda, tell Finn that his love from the UK just might be what kept ME from being what is green and wobbley after we got back from our walk yesterday! I was wearing green and I was sure wobbley, so it's kind of him to make the answer be a frog in jelly instead of ME!

I feel your love; thanks, and love back to you all,

    Mary Jo

  10. Amanda, your Finn is giggly, huh? And both boys sculpt with you; wow! It's wonderful that you can all work together and Mike is off somewhere taking care of the details of the site; what a great jack of all trades he is! We walked by a beautiful home with smooth river rocks in their flower bed today and I thought of Finn's joy with rocks. I resisted capturing one for him, but I have a rock at home I want to send to him when we get home.

    Love you all,

    Mary Jo
